1. Increased Cost and Turnaround Time: FR embroidery generally costs about 50% more than standard embroidery on the same item. Once approved, our quoted turn time for FR embroidery is 15 business days, though faster completion may be possible based on material availability.
2. Limited Thread Color Options: Due to the special nature of FR threads, there’s a limited selection of colors, and availability may vary depending on stock levels.
3. Minimum Order Policy: While there’s no minimum quantity for FR embroidery, any design sewn with fewer than 6 pieces will still be billed for 6 embroidery applications, though the garment cost will only reflect the number of items ordered. For example, if you order 3 garments, you’ll be billed for 3 garments but with 6 embroidery application fees.
4. Requesting FR Embroidery: FR embroidery is applied only by request. Be sure "FR" pr "Fire Retardant" appears on all quotes, approvals, and invoices; it’s not added automatically.
5. FR Certified Materials: We use FR-certified thread, backing, and bobbin to maintain compliance with FR standards. FR sewing may appear different than our normal sewing as the thread has different physical characteristics.
